The Ottawa Senators will do everything possible to ink a new deal with Alex DeBrincat, and the GM Pierre Dorion confirmed it.
The forward is a restricted free agent and finished a 3-year, almost 20-million-dollar deal with a cap hit of 6.4 million dollars. His initial offer is set at 9 million dollars.
“Obviously, as a franchise when we traded for Alex, we wanted to ink him for as long as possible,” Ottawa general manager shared in an Interview. “Alex wanted to feel his way out in Senators.
“We’ve had exploratory talks with his agent. “We stand by to see what will happen next. But, the most important thing, we’d like him to remain in our team.“
The Canadian franchise got him from the Chicago Blackhawks on draft day in 2022 in exchange for draft picks.
