The Serbs finish second behind Hungary
Serbia will play at the Euro 2024 next summer after drawing 2-2 at home against Bulgaria, which was enough to keep the second place in the group and deny Montenegro of a chance to dream for their big tournament debut.
The Serbs opened the scoring in the 17 minute when Velkovic was at the right place after a corner and headed the ball into the net. After the break the away side made a complete comeback with a goal from Rusev in the 59 minute and Despodov just ten minutes later.
Bulgaria was looking for their first win in an official game for more than a year, but in the 83 minute Babic’s header at the near post after a corner drew the game 2-2.
