A stoppage time own goal drew the home side level as United took an early 2-0 lead

Manchester United and Sevilla produced a stunning 2-2 draw in their first leg of the 1/4 final of the Europa League on Thursday night.


The Red Devils started off strongly with high pressing and quick attacking football and their efforts got rewarded as Marcel Sabitzer drove a fantastic shot past goalkeeper Bono to break the deadlock in the 14th minute.

Just seven minutes later Sabitzer was put on goal with great through ball from Anthony Martial and Austrian made no mistake and doubled the home team’s lead.

United tried to control the pace, but injury to Raphael Varane carved them open at the back and Sevilla took advantage of the home team’s defensive shortcomings to reduce the deficit through J.Navas strike took a fortunate deflection of Tyrell Malacia in the 84th minute.

All of a sudden the away team came alive and started pressing United in search of an equalizer and they were rewarded after a stroke of bad luck cost the Red Devils as deflection off Harry Maguire’s head found David De Gea’s net deep into stoppage time.
