The Blades docked two points for the next EFL season.

Sheffield United will be deducted 2 points at the beginning of the next campaign that they are in the league, no matter if it will be in the Premier League or Championship, for defaulting on payments to other teams, the English governing body shared today.

The charges relate to the past campaign, when the Blades were promoted from the 2nd tier to the 1st tier, and the team was also given an additional 2 points suspended, which will become active if they default on a payment to another team.

The EPL’s bottom side, Sheffield, revealed that they will not appeal the deduction and have given the green light to pay the EFL’s costs of almost 400,000 dollars.

The EFL informed the Blades over an year ago in March that they gave the team to a Disciplinary Commission to investigate them for breaches of the rules. Sheffield will most likely suffer the deduction next season in Championship as the team have no realistic chances to avoid relegation.
