The 1st two sets between the Italian opponents were very close, and both were decided after tiebreaks, but unfortunately for Berrettini, Sinner won them both. In the 1st set, no one was able to break his opponent serve and Jannik triumphed at the tiebreak 7 to 3 points. In the 2nd set, both converted 1 break, and again, the tiebreak decided the set, and again, Sinner won it, this time 7 to 4 points.
That’s when everyone taught this will break Matteo mentally and Jannik will win easily the 3rd set and close the match, but exactly the opposite happened and Berrettini won the 3rd set 6-2 after converting 2 break chances from 3 opportunities.
The 4th set, however, reached a tiebreak again after 1 break from each player, and again, Sinner won it 7 to 4 points and closed the match 3-1 sets as he won all of his sets after tiebreaks.
Jannik Sinner is now 14-0 against fellow Italian players.
Undefeated.
