Levante defeated lowly CD Huracan Melilla 8-0 in December 2021
A Spanish court is investigating allegations of match-fixing in a Copa del Rey match between CD Huracan Melilla and Levante.

La Liga issued a statement on Thursday in which it said it had been contacted by an “anonymous informant” about the first-round match in December 2021, which away side Levante won 8-0.

Levante are not being investigated over the fixture.

La Liga said that it had passed information to the National Police Center for Sports Integrity and Gambling (CENPIDA) and that an investigation had subsequently been opened.

Six people, including a former Huracan Melilla player, have already appeared before a regional court in Melilla for questioning, La Liga said, adding: “Levante stays completely outside these events, which are being investigated.”
