Tottenham Hotspur have completed the signing of Wolfsburg defender Micky van den Ven for estimated fee of 40 million euros.
The fee could rise up to 50 million euros in add-ons if the 22-year-old performs at a high level.
It is a six-year deal, which ties the Dutchman with the team until 2029 and he feature as early as Tuesday in Spurs’ final pre-season game against Barcelona.
Van den Ven becomes Spurs’ 4th summer signing, joining midfielder James Maddison, Italian goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario and Israel winger Manor Solomon as part of new manager Ange Postecoglou’s team rebuild.
The 22-year-old impressed with Wolfsburg in his 2-year stint with the Bundesliga team after joining them from Dutch side Volendam for 3.5 million euros in 2021. He made 36 appearances in all competition last campaign, 33 of which were in the Bundesliga, missing only one match.
He is likely to make his debut on Sunday in Spurs opening game of the new Premier League season – a travel to Brentford.
