The St. Louis Blues dismissed Craig Berube yesterday, cutting ties with the boss who led the organization to its only Stanley Cup.
The NHL franchise GM Doug Armstrong shared Berube’s dismissal hours after a 6-4 defeat against the Detroit Red Wings.
The defeat was the campaign-worst 4th consecutive for the team, who are off to a 13-14-1 beginning of the campaign.
Blues are in the 6th place in the Central Division, trailing 9 points from the division-leading Colorado. St. Louis is in 10th place out of 16 organizations in the West Conference.
The team ranked 26th in the National Hockey League in goals per match (2.82) and has the second-worst power play (7 for 83) in the NHL at below 9%.
The team won its only Stanley Cup in 2019 with Craig at the helm.
The only coach to bring a Stanley Cup to St. Louis.
Craig Berube is third all time in franchise wins and games and will go down as one of the best coaches we’ve ever had.
Thanks for everything Chief, this one really hurts. pic.twitter.com/lRK6ABVg6l
