Matthew was due 31 million dollars base salary this campaign on the 4-year, 160 million dollar contract that he inked with the organization 2 years ago. While Stafford has 3 years remaining on the deal, this upcoming campaign was set to be the final 1 with guaranteed money.
The Rams head coach didn’t reveal details about the quarterback’s adjusted deal but shared that it was not an extension. Sean added there was “a lot of great talk” between the sides that led to the best scenario for both the team and the quarterback.
Matthew 1st went to Los Angeles during the offseason with the request for a deal adjustment, the head coach revealed, but there was an “uptick in the urgency in the past few days that led to the outcome and for Stafford to be back with the Rams on camp.
