Dallas beat Vegas after a shootout in a derby among division leaders.

Roope Hintz notched the winning goal in the shootout and secured the Dallas Stars‘ victory Vegas Golden Knights at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX.

After beating their divisional rivals, Dallas seized 1st place in the Central Division. Stars have 102 points and 3 more matches to play until the end of the season.

The point for Vegas meant they would have the home leverage in the 1st round. The franchise is still the leader in Pacific Division with 2 more points than Edmonton Oilers that trash 6-1 San Jose today.

The center of Dallas, Joe Pavelski, failed to score as he did in his team’s last 5 matches. Pavelski has 999 points in his career in NHL and needs only one more point to reach the 1,000-point milestone. That will make him only the 11th player in history to hit at least 1,000 points who is born in the USA.

Vegas will play at home against Seattle Kraken on Tuesday, while Dallas will visit Detroit Red Wings on Monday.
