Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry exited their 112-104 loss to the Los Angeles Clippers early after sustaining an ankle injury at the Chase Center. Curry initially returned to the court after tweaking his ankle twice in the second half, but when he rolled his left ankle hard while setting a screen, he immediately limped off in visible pain and headed to the locker room. Warriors coach Steve Kerr described the injury as “mild or moderate,” and Curry is scheduled for an MRI to assess the extent of the damage.

Curry wrapped up the game with 18 points, six assists, and four rebounds, shooting 6-of-11 overall and 4-of-7 from three-point range. His strong start to the season had been key in Golden State’s 2-0 record, highlighted by decisive wins over the Portland Trail Blazers and Utah Jazz.
The Clippers dominated most of the game, with standout performances from James Harden, who recorded 23 points and 11 assists, and Ivica Zubac, who contributed 23 points and 17 rebounds. Norman Powell added 20 points to secure the Clippers’ second win of the season.
In Curry’s absence, Andrew Wiggins led the Warriors with 29 points, while Jonathan Kuminga chipped in with 12 points and five rebounds, and Kevon Looney had a double-double with 10 points and 11 rebounds off the bench.
The Warriors will look to regroup when they face the New Orleans Pelicans in back-to-back home games starting Tuesday night, while they await updates on Curry’s injury status.
