Ex-Chelsea and Man City forward Raheem Sterling has inked a contract with the Dutch side Feyenoord until the end of the campaign.
Sterling left the Blues by mutual consent at the beginning of the year after agreeing a settlement package with Chelsea, as he had at that moment a year-and-a-half deal with a salary of 300,000 pounds per week.
Raheem, who is 31 years old, has spent time considering his future as he had numerous options, but his decision is to continue his career in Eredivisie with Feyenoord, who are 2nd in the league and managed by ex-Man United and Arsenal forward Robin van Persie.
“As a free agent, I have had, for the 1st time in a long time, the chance to choose my next club,” the winger shared.
“After discussing my future with van Persie, I’m confident that I want to play for Feyenoord, and I want to give everything to help the club succeed. Playing outside of England is a different challenge for me and something that I always wanted to do someday, and now is the time.”
🚨 Raheem Sterling will land in Rotterdam on Friday.
Formal steps of his move to Feyenoord will follow in next 24h, all sealed until June 2026.
