Suns edge out Warriors 108-104 in season opener

Kevin Durant and Devin Booker with key distributions

The Phoenix Suns emerged victorious in the NBA opening game of 2023-24 season against the Golden State Warriors 108-104 on Tuesday night.

Devin Booker scored 32 points with a key 3-pointer towards the end; Stephen Curry bagged 27, while Kevin Durant finished with 18 on his return against former team Warriors.

Jusuf Nurkic had 14 points and 14 rebounds on his debut for the Suns.

Chris Paul contributed 14 points, nine assists and six rebounds in his Warriors debut facing his most recent team.

Golden State paid a special tribute for Durant as recognition for his contribution over the years. The 35-year-old led the Warriors to two championships with 2 NBA Finals MVP awards.

A special video highlights was played before the game and Durant was full of appreciation.

“A lot of good moments in the video. We was able to relive some of those memories real quick,” he said. “But it was good to come in here and get the season started off right with a W.”
