The edge rusher is inking a 4-year, 98 million dollar extension. His new contract features 72 million dollars in guarantees as it is also front-loaded, and Sweat will get about 56 million dollars by the end of 2025.
Bears, a few days ago, sent a 2024 2nd-round selection to Commanders for the edge rusher, who is competing in the final season of his rookie deal.
Chicago GM Ryan Poles shared on Wednesday that the organization was working on an extension for Montez and is very close to making it official.
Sweat is the 2nd Chicago player to ink an extension this week, as DT Andrew Billings signed a 2-year, 8.5 million dollar extension.
