Sweden trash Italy 5-0 at FIFA Women’s World Cup

After winning in the last minute vs. South Africa, Sweden totally dominated today and defeated 5-0 Italy and clinched its place in the knockout rounds of the World Cup.

The Scandinavian team relied on Amanda Ilestedt’s goal in the last minute to secure a 2-1 victory in their debut match at the forum vs. South Africa.

Ilestedt netted again as she was the 1^st player to score near the end of the 1^st half, and the Swedish team scored 4 goals in only 11 minutes, including the opening goal. Amanda scored her 2^nd goal in the 50^th minute as she did it again with a header after a corner as that’s how she netted her 1^st goal against Italy.

Rebecka Blomqvist was the last goal scorer as she netted Sweden’s 5^th goal in stoppage time.

Sweden advanced to the knockout rounds from Group G, while Argentina, Italy, and South Africa still have a chance to join the Scandinavian team and progress.
