Iga Swiatek, world number 1, dominated in her 1^st match at the US Open as she trashed world number 86, Rebecca Peterson, 2-0 sets (6:0, 6:1), and advanced to the 2^nd round at the Big Slam tournament in New York.

A journalist asked her about her level of play in the post-match interview, and she answered that she was happy to get such a swift victory. Swiatek shared that she enjoyed her time on the court in today’s match. World number 1 added that her focus is 100% on playing her game and trying to defend her title in the Big Apple.
