Iga Swiatek came out on top in her clash with Karolina Muchova 6-1, 4-6, 6-4 in the second round of the Canadian Open.

Both players had to wait for a very long time to to lengthy rain delays, which hampered the play and compromised the rhythm of the match.
In the end, Swiatek proved to have the better nerve as she emerged more composed and focused and deservedly won.

“For sure, it was a pretty extraordinary day,” she said.
“I don’t think I’ve had such a situation in my career so there is the opportunity to learn something new and see what I’m capable of. Even though we played this match, like, three times.”
“You have to find energy, even though we’ve been here since 9am.”
Swiatek will face Danielle Collins in the next round.
