After a slow start, Team USA shifted into a higher gear in the second quarter and ultimately secured a 104-83 victory over Puerto Rico (25-29, 39-16, 23-14, 17-24) in their final group stage game.

With this win, the USA topped Group C and earned the highest seed in the group stage, setting up a quarterfinal clash against Brazil, who finished third in Group B.

Anthony Edwards led the American team with his best performance of the Olympics, scoring a game-high 26 points on 11-for-15 shooting, along with 3 rebounds and 3 assists in just 17 minutes of play. Joel Embiid, who was benched in the previous game against South Sudan, contributed 15 points on 6-for-14 shooting.
