Erik ten Hag was full of praise for his defender Harry Maguire after another fine performance saw him claim Man of the Match in a difficult 2-1 win over Sheffield United.

Maguire has started in consecutive games for United, after the squad was hit with injuries. However on both occasions he has helped his team achieved victory, something which has been very difficult for the Red Devils in 2023-24.
“I am happy with his performance,” said Ten Hag after the match.
“I have to say Harry is playing like we want him to play. Very proactive out of possession, dominating his opponent, stepping in when necessary, reading the game, good covering but also in possession very proactive, stepping in, delivering good passes and switching.”
Maguire received huge criticism over the past few months, with the 30-year-old being booed at many stadiums, which subsequently led to him being stripped off captaincy by ten Hag.
