Erik ten Hag has taken the full blame for Manchester United’s disastrous collapse against Galatasaray, which leaves the team on brink of a group stage elimination.
The Red Devils had a 2-goal lead twice on Wednesday, but couldn’t close out the match and eventually finished 3-3.
The result means that United must hope for result elsewhere if they want to reach the last 16 and ten Hag, understandably, came under severe scrutiny.
“I am responsible for this,” said the Dutchman. “We know we are in a project. We are making improvements, so that’s very hopeful.”
“We are going in the right direction so I know we will be successful in the long-term, but if you want to stay in the Champions League you need to win these games.”
“We are leading 3-1 and we cannot afford mistakes as it makes a difference.”
