The Dutch netted on his Man United debut in 2020 but has struggled to secure his place in the starting 11 ever since. That didn’t change when his ex-Ajax manager became the Red Devils’ boss, and Donny has played only 21 minutes in all tournaments this campaign.
Erik admitted that he would not cause any problems for the midfielder if he decided to leave the club during the upcoming winter transfer window in January.
“I understand that he has to play for his career and to be happy,” the Red Devils manager shared.
Van de Beek shared that he wants to play regularly, and if that can’t happen at Old Trafford, he is ready to try new challenge despite the huge amount of money he earns with Manchester United.
