Steele will get $86.8 guaranteed, which makes him among the top 10 best players in the NFL. The deal can rise up to $91.8 m.
The 26-year-old took part in training camp despite tearing an ACL towards the end of last season.
Undrafted out of Texas Tech, Steele started 14 games as a rookie in 2020 when he replaced an injured La’el Collins. He has started 40 of 45 games.
The deal comes two weeks after the Cowboys inked Zack Martin and Trevon Diggs, who signed to five-year extension, worth $97.
