Real Madrid’s longtime goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois has torn a ligament in his left knee and must have surgery, the Spanish giant shared today.

The Belgium international goalkeeper suffered the injury during the training process ahead of the start of the new season.
Courtois is among the best active goalkeepers in the world, and the Royal club depend on him. He joined Real Madrid in 2018 from the Premier League side Chelsea and in his whole career in Spain, he was the 1st choice goalkeeper.
Thibaut triumphed with the Champions League in 2022 and also won La Liga twice during his spell with the most popular football club in the world.
Real Madrid will begin the new campaign in 2 days on Saturday as they will place against Athletic Bilbao in their La Liga’s opening match.
Barcelona won the title in the past campaign, and Real Madrid are expected to do everything possible to win La Liga this season, but Courtois’ injury can be a huge blow to their ambitions.
