Former tennis coach Tony Nadal, who is also Rafael Nadal’s uncle, is confident that the Spanish tennis player will soon be able to return to the game and prepare well for the French Open.
Rafael Nadal announced his withdrawal from Monte Carlo Masters, but will be able to compete in the tournaments in Barcelona and Madrid, which come before the French Open. In Paris, he has won 14 out of his 22 Grand Slam titles.
“Rafa has some issues with his serve. Besides that, he has no doubts. It’s important for him to play a tournament before the French Open. That’s part of good preparation. You either go and give a hundred percent or don’t play at all,” Tony Nadal told Marca on Friday.
The current year, 2024, could potentially be Nadal’s last in professional tennis as he is hit with multiple injuries after his long rehabilitation from hip problem last season.
