Roma and Italy legend Francesco Totti believes Juventus are favorites to win the Italian title this season. The 2006 world champion with Italy spoke about the state of his club ahead of the derby with AC Milan on Friday.
“This is just the beginning. Some leading teams had disappointing results. I’m sorry because I wanted to see Roma higher in the standings, but still anything can happen. The main goal is to return to the Champions League. I won’t talk about the Scudetto, I have to let’s be realistic,” said Totti.
When asked who was the favorite for the title, he replied: “For me, it’s Juventus. They don’t play in the European tournaments and they can work differently during the week.”
Totti also spoke about Roma’s signing of Romelu Lukaku: “Lukaku is a great signing, he has the potential to make a difference. I hope he will be in sync with Dybala. We will see good things, but one player does not make a team.”
