The 29-year-old played only 4 times for the Miami Dolphins, having being put as an injured reserve.
He returns to his former team, where he spent 4 years and clinched 2 of his total of 3 Super Bowls.
The Patriots drafted him out of Arkansas in the fourth round of the 2015 draft and he has notched 64 starts of 79 regular-season games.
Flowers left New England for Detroit in 2019, but injuries plagued his spell with the Lions as he made only 29 appearances over the course of 3 seasons. Last summer he was acquired by the Dolphins, but injury in the fourth game ended his season prematurely.
