The no. 2 seed Stefanos Tsitsipas has advanced to the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 tournament in Barcelona. On court “Rafael Nadal”, the Greek prevailed 6:3, 6:2 over the Canadian Denis Shapovalov in just under 80 minutes of play.
Tsitsipas got the win fairly easily, aided by the 12 double faults his opponent committed on serve.
For a place in the semi-finals, he will face Australian Alex de Minaur who got through after Grigor Dimitrov’s retirement due to illness.
