Fiorentina midfielder Antonin Barak received 2 yellow cards within 9 minutes and left the Czech Republic with 10 men on the pitch in the 20th minute. The 1st half ended without goals despite the team with 1 fewer player on the pitch to have the best chance to score in the final minutes, but they missed it.
However, Inter and Turkey star Hakan Calhanoglu gave the lead for his team in the 51st minute after Ismail Yuksek’s assist. Despite trailing and being with 10 men, Czech Republic refused to give up and the Hammers midfielder Tomas Soucek tied the result in the 66th minute and gave his nation hope as they look for a victory to advance to the next phase.
In the extra time of the match, Czech Republic attacked with all the players that they can seeking a win, but Turkey took advantage of that and Cenk Tosun scored in the 94th minute to secure its country place in the elimination phase.
