Free agent Ty Johnson has revealed via Instagram how his former team the New York Jets released him last year.
Johnson tore his pectoral muscle in a workout session during offseason and was dismissed shortly after. He said that the team virtually forced him to undergo a surgery that he was unwilling to take.
“Saw the team doctor, he said, ‘You need to get it fixed,’” he wrote
“Flew out the next day. Come back, happy, that I got it done, even though I didn’t want to get it done. That following Wednesday, you out of there. And I was like ‘damn.’”
Johnson finished the 2022 season with 160 yards on 30 rush attempts in 17 appearances. He is fully optimistic about the continuation of his career, despite not having a club at the moment.
