Miami Heat leader Tyler Herro will undergo a procedure on his left foot today and will not be available for the start of the new campaign, the franchise revealed.
Tyler has played through the pain with an impingement in his left foot in the past campaign. Miami’s guard sustained an ankle problem after the end of the season, which led him to decide to have surgery.
Heat will begin the season without its top scorer. Tyler had his best campaign, averaging almost 24 points, over 5 assists, and over 5 boards per match.
This ankle/foot impingement has bothered Tyler Herro since mid-summer.
He received PRP and cortisone injections in recent weeks to avoid surgery, but the discomfort never went away — surgery was deemed necessary to prevent further issues.

Miami will try to rebound after the disappointment in the past season, as the Cavs trash them in 3 of their 4 straight victories against the Heat in the 1st round. During the offseason, the franchise from Florida decided to make moves in order to improve by trading for Norman Powell and Simone Fontecchio and picking at the draft guard Kasparas Jakucionis.
Herro was an All-Star in the past season for the 1st time in his NBA career, as he is very consistent and averaged at least 20 points and 5 boards in each of the last 4 campaigns.
