The Tampa Bay Lightning have signed forward Tyler Motte to one-year contract, worth $800,000, the team announced.
Motte comes in the place of Josh Archibald, whose contract has been terminated and the 28-year-old will be looking to fill in the void.

Motte had 62 appearances last season between the Ottawa Senators and New York Rangers, notching eight goals and 11 assists for 19 points. Motte also played in every game of the Rangers’ seven-game series loss to the New Jersey Devils but was held to no points.
The Lightning are currently just under $6.58 million over the salary cap. However, defenseman Brent Seabrook and his $6.875-million cap hit are expected to go on the long-term injured reserve, which would create plenty of cap space for the Tampa Bay team to exceed by.
