Lesley committed to 7 seasons, but the manager has not yet decided on the midfielder’s current future.
Ugochukwu played 47 Ligue 1 matches for Rennes and has appeared in the Europa League.
“We will decide after he starts training today and then at home after the tour,” shared Mauricio.
“He’s a young, talented midfielder. Now is the time to judge him until the end of the summer window and see if he will be in our plans for the current campaign or if it is possible to loan him.”
Lesley, whose contract has the option of an additional campaign, is yet to debut for the French national team but was part of France on the international level at under-17, under-18, and under-19 levels.
He can even return to Ligue 1 because the Chelsea owner also owns Strasbourg in France.
