Ukraine got a very important 2-0 win against North Macedonia in Prague in their Euro 2024 qualification group. Georgii Sudakov opened the scoring in the 30th minute, and reserve Oleksander Karavaev addedthe second deep in stoppage time.
After this victory, Serhiy Rebrov’s side are second in Group C of the Euro 2024 qualifiers with 10 points, three points ahead of today’s opponents and Italy, who host Malta later today. England lead the group with 13 points.
The symbolic hosts had the ball for large periods and attacked at every opportunity. Their more active play paid off in the 30th minute when they took the lead after Yani Atanasov lost the ball in a dangerous area. Sudakov shot, and the ball deflected into Serafimov and left no chance for the goalkeeper.
Serhii Rebrov’s team got another great chance in the 87th minute. Then the goalkeeper of the North Macedonians managed to stop the reserve Yaremchuk, who came out one on one against him. Dimitrievski was beaten once again though. This happened deep in added time, when another reserve – Karavayev, started from the center line and surprised the guard with a magnificent shot.
