The U.S. men’s basketball team advanced to the 2nd round.

Austin Reave notched 15 points, and the USA defeated Greece 109-81 today to secure its place in the next FIBA Basketball World Cup round.

Jalen Brunson and Anthony Edwards each netted 13 for the U.S., still undefeated in 7 matches overall since the beginning of the summer. Jalen scored all 5 of his shots, Bobby Portis finished with 10 points and Josh Hart grabbed 11 boards for the victory.

The victory, combined with New Zealand’s 95-87 OT win against Jordan earlier today, means that the USA clinched a 2nd round berth. The team led by Steve Kerr will finish the group stage with a clash vs. Jordan on Wednesday and then will face Lithuania and Montenegro on Friday and Sunday.

Georgios Papagiannis netted 17 points for Greece in the absence of its biggest superstar, Giannis Antetokounmpo, who withdrew from the national team for the tournament, claiming he needs more time to recover from knee surgery.
