The heavyweight champ from Ukraine, who already played football as a teenager with Tavriya Simferopol before focusing on boxing, inked a 1-year contract with the team and will play with the number 17.
Oleksandr appeared in a friendly for Polissya last year when he entered the match from the bench.
Polissya is part of the Ukrainian Premier League for the upcoming season after securing promotion when they won the 2nd tier last campaign.
“I love and respect Usyk. His attitude to training is a great example for each player in our club,” Polissya president Gennadiy Butkevych shared after the news that Oleksandr inked a deal with the team.
His next boxing bout will be on August 26th in Wroclaw, Poland, where he will defend his belts vs. Daniel Dubois from Great Britain.
