Virgil van Dijk has responded to Roy Keane’s comments that the Dutch skipper has been arrogant after a stale 0-0 draw with Manchester United at Anfield.
Following the game van Dijk stated that “there was only one team trying to win”, which didn’t go well with Keane. According to the Sky pundit there was arrogance coming out of that statement.
But the 32-year-old has hit back with an opinion of his own.
“I like Roy Keane, if he said that then it’s fine,” said Van Dijk.
“He is Manchester United throughout and I understand he could react like that but I felt what I said and there is absolutely no arrogance in that.”
“Everyone who watched the game probably felt the same. We move on. We had the opportunity and we couldn’t score and that’s the frustrating part.”
In the end Liverpool finished with 34 shots to United’s six, but still couldn’t find a way through.
