The whole team took pictures with the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl after beating the Dallas Stars 6-0 in the West Conference Finals, but neither player touched the trophy as they did in 2018 and then lost in the Stanley Cup.
“We touched it a lot the 1st season, and it didn’t bring us good luck,” Jonathan Marchessault shared after their Game 6 victory. “Hopefully, this time, it will be different. The franchise did its best to win the Western Conference, but our big goal is still yet to come, and the trophy we want to touch needs to be won.”
Manager Bruce Cassidy said he told his players not to celebrate with the trophy.
