Max Verstappen secured pole position for the sprint race at the Austrian Grand Prix, narrowly beating Lando Norris by just 0.093 seconds.
Despite expressing dissatisfaction with his tyres due to a chaotic end to the session and a crowded track, Verstappen managed to edge out the competition. McLaren’s Oscar Piastri secured third place, 0.301 seconds behind Verstappen, making it a strong showing for McLaren with both cars in the top three.

George Russell placed his Mercedes in fourth, followed by Carlos Sainz in fifth for Ferrari. Sainz’s teammate, Charles Leclerc, failed to start his final flying lap in time, resulting in a 10th place start.
Lewis Hamilton, who had multiple off-track excursions, finished in sixth. Red Bull’s Sergio Perez had a disappointing session, ending up 1.322 seconds slower than Verstappen and in seventh place. The Alpines of Esteban Ocon and Pierre Gasly finished in eighth and ninth respectively.
