Max Verstappen will be at the pole position for Sunday’s Qatar GP in a race that can secure him the title for a 3rd consecutive season.
However, the Dutch can be crowned world champion even before Sunday’s race begins because he only needs 3 points and can earn them in tomorrow’s sprint race, as that would mean he would have won the trophy with 6 remaining races.

Verstappen will start ahead of Mercedes’ George Russell in the 1st row in Qatar after Lando Norris, who set the 2nd fastest time, had his lap time erased because he drove out of the track limits.
Max secured 1st place in the qualification by over a 0.5 second from George, despite deciding not to race in his last qualification lap after making a mistake at the beginning.
Lewis Hamilton will start from the 3rd position as Fernando Alonso is 4th, and the top 5 ends Charles Leclerc.
