Max Verstappen has pointed out that Red Bull may not have it their way in Sao Paolo after difficult race last year at that circuit.
In 2022 Verstappen could only manage P6 with his teammate following behind in P7. The Milton Keynes team was clearly outpaced both by Mercedes and Ferrari on that occasion.
“Well last year we didn’t have a great race weekend here, and now with the Sprint format it makes it quite difficult to straight away be on top of things.” the Dutchman said.
“We had a few ideas why last year was not that great but one practice session to make sure it is better this year. There is a lot of high deg here and the way you have to set up the car, a lot of low-speed corners, I don’t think our car is particularly amazing in the low-speed corners, so I’ll guess we will find out.”
Verstappen will be aiming for an unbelievable 17th victory of the season, which will extend his record for most wins of a single season and will also put him ahead of Allain Prost in the all-time ranking.
