Minnesota brings back Carson on a 1-season contract.

The Minnesota Vikings and QB Carson Wentz agreed to a 1-year contract today, as the organization adds to their depth in a crucial campaign for them at the position.

Carson, who started 5 matches in the past campaign as Minnesota’s reserve QB, joins a team that features newcomer Kyler Murray along with incumbents J.J. McCarthy and Max Brosmer. Minnesota has been determined to upgrade the QB position after injuries and poor performances were the reason for the Vikings to miss the postseason twice in the past 3 years.

Vikings manager Kevin O’Connell didn’t reveal a few days ago who will be QB1 for the franchise in the upcoming season during the inking of Murray. He is the favorite to be the leading quarterback of Minnesota, but McCarthy also has high chances to be the starter.

Carson led Minnesota to a 2-3 record, playing the final 2 and a half matches with a dislocated left shoulder. Wentz finally underwent a campaign-ending procedure after a Week 8 defeat against the LA Chargers. The team produced 4 of their top 5 offensive performances based on total yards during his starts.
