Bayern Munich are in advanced talks with Burnley over the surprise appointment of Vincent Kompany as their new head coach. The Bundesliga giants believe Kompany is keen on joining them, and the two clubs are currently negotiating a compensation fee.
If the deal goes through, it is expected that Kompany, 38, will bring his Burnley backroom staff with him to Munich, including former Wales international Craig Bellamy.
Bayern have been struggling to find a replacement for Thomas Tuchel, whose departure was confirmed last week after an initial announcement in February. Potential candidates such as Bayer Leverkusen boss Xabi Alonso, Germany chief Julian Nagelsmann, and current Austria coach Ralf Rangnick have all turned down the role.

Efforts to persuade Tuchel to stay on also failed, leaving Bayern in a difficult position.
Kompany has developed a respectable reputation during his managerial stints at Anderlecht and Burnley, though Burnley’s relegation following high pre-season expectations has somewhat marred his recent record.
