Ethan Bear is returning to the National Hockey League after a shoulder procedure after inking a 2-season deal with the Washington Capitals.
GM Brian MacLellan shared about the contract with the defenseman today, almost a week after the player joined the organization for practice, and the team from the USA capital shared their intentions to ink him. The deal is worth over 4 million dollars and carries a salary cap hit of over 2 million for the rest of this campaign and the next season.
“Healed completely now and putting the problem behind him, Bear could be a good fit for our team,” manager Spencer Carbery admitted in the past days. Ethan is someone, I think, that can, in the right conditions, if all goes well, bring an added punch to our back end, especially when we are attacking.”
It is unclear yet when he will see him on the ice for the 1st time this campaign.
OFFICIAL: The Washington Capitals have signed defenseman Ethan Bear to a two-year, $4.125 million contract. Bear’s contract will carry an average annual value of $2.0625 million.#ALLCAPS
