MacKenzie Weegar was the big hero for Calgary as he scored with just 5 seconds left on the clock in overtime, to push the Flames to a 2-1 victory over the Vegas Golden Knights on Monday.
A.J. Greer was the other goalscorer for the Flames, while the goalie Dan Vladar stopped 27 shots on the night. This victory was Calgary’s second in three games and is 5-2-1 in its last eight games overall and 3-0-1 in the last four at home.
William Karlsson was the scorer for Vegas, netting a power-play goal in the first period, and Adin Hill finished with 32 saves. The Golden Knights have lost seven of 10 (3-5-2) since starting the season on a high – 11-0-1.
