The Frenchman scored as many points as minutes he had on the court
Victor Wembanyama made every minute on court count, scoring 23 points in 23 minutes to lead the San Antonio Spurs to a 120-104 victory over the Miami Heat on Friday night.
The No. 1 pick in this year’s draft, scored 10 of 15 shots overall — 1 of 5 from 3-point range — and both of his free throws in his second preseason game. Wembanyama also had four rebounds, four assists and three blocks on Friday.
Devin Vassell hit 6 of 7 from beyond the arc and finished with two points behind his French teammate with three assists for the Spurs. Jamal Cain was 6 of 8 on 3-pointers and finished with 24 points and 10 rebounds to pace the Heat.
