Arsene Wenge is convinced that his former team Arsenal will be in the hunt for the title next year even if they miss out this season.
The Gunners had led the way for the majority of the season, but a poor run of result has seen them fallen behind Manchester City in the table.
The Citizens are red-hot favorites to clinch yet another title and Arsenal’s fall from grace in a critical moment has led many to believe whether they have the mentality to stand up and the deliver the same kind of form the next season.
However, old boss Wenger isn’t concerned about those prospect as he believes Mikel Arteta is doing the best job possible to improve the team.
‘I think we have in every position of the team, a player who has the quality to deliver the trophy,’ Wenger told Sky Sports.
‘If it’s not this year, it will be maybe next year, but the quality is there, you know, and the team is especially going forward, very young.
‘But I like the way they play, they are mobile, they make intelligent decisions around the box, they play well together and all the ingredients are there.’
Arsenal trail City by one point with Pep Guardiola’s team still having a game in hand. The Gunners face a huge test for their title aspiration this weekend, when they visit Newcastle United on Sunday. A failure to win at St. James Park will practically gift City the title.
