Adama Traore has been banned from lifting weights at the training ground by the Hammers’ head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo.
The forward’s muscular frame has been described as “incredible” by his manager, but the Portuguese boss warned Traore that he already “carries enough weight”.
Adama had revealed in the past that he did not lift weights, but team-mate Crysencio Summerville shared a video of the winger bench-pressing 145kg at West Ham’s training ground several days ago.
Traore’s physique is incredible. It’s genetics. But Adama’s genetics have been like this for some time now, and he must avoid lifting weights,” shared Nuno before his team’s game against Fulham tomorrow.
“I told Adama to stay out of the gym. It is very important for him to understand that. He is big enough.
“Traore will do prevention work in the gym, but he is not in there to train heavy.
“On the contrary, [Under-21s defender] Airidas Golambeckis spends a lot of time in the gym, and he must lift weights. Airidas is the 1 that needs some muscle, not Traore.”
