West Ham is bracing for the possibility that Lucas Paquetá’s career could be in jeopardy amid allegations of intentionally receiving yellow cards, according to a report by The Guardian.
The Football Association (FA) is probing claims that Paquetá deliberately got booked in matches against Leicester, Aston Villa, Leeds, and Bournemouth between 2022 and 2023.
In a statement, the FA outlined suspicions that the Brazilian midfielder sought to manipulate the outcome of these games by purposefully attracting yellow cards, potentially for the benefit of individuals in the betting market.
Paquetá has until June 3rd to formally address the charges. The investigation came to light last summer when the player was on the verge of a move to Manchester City, which ultimately collapsed due to these accusations.
