Minnesota won its 1st match in the Western Conference finals.

Karl-Anthony Towns finally played like the best version of himself, and the Minnesota Timberwolves beat the Dallas Mavericks 105-100 at American Airlines Center in Dallas, TX, for its 1st victory in the West finals.

Timberwolves now head back home to try to make things even more interesting vs. Mavericks.

Karl-Anthony notched 20 of his 25 points in the 2nd half for the triumph of his team. Anthony Edwards finished with 29 points, 10 boards, and 1 assist shy of a triple-double as Minnesota stayed alive in their 1st appearance to the conference finals in 20 seasons and just 2nd in the organization’s 35 campaigns. The next match is on Thursday.

Luka Doncic finished with 28 points, 15 boards, and 10 assists in his 6th triple-double of the postseason, but the Slovenian and Kyrie Irving shot 13 of 39 from the field. Kyrie, who was 14-0 in his career in closeout matches before tonight, scored only one 3-pointer from 6 tries and had 16 points.

“I’m the one to blame for the defeat. Just didn’t provide enough energy on the court,” shared Luka after the loss.
