The new contract features an option for 1 more year, too.
Xavi’s current deal was until the end of the current season, but he always shared there would be “no problems” in reaching an agreement for a new contract.
Negotiations between the head coach and the Catalan club accelerated after the end of the summer transfer window, as it will be announced officially in the upcoming days.
Xavi became Barca’s head coach, replacing Ronald Koeman at the end of 2021 after beginning his managerial career with Al Sadd in the Middle East.
In his 1st season at the helm of Barca, he took the side from 9th in the standings to 2nd place, meaning that the team will play in the Champions League.
In the past campaign, Xavi won La Liga with Barcelona, as that was the club’s 1st title since 2019.
